Unrestored “Knucklehead” in very good stock condition.

Engine VIN stamping 41EL3949
Case (belly) matching factory numbers: 41-4012.
Odometer 24,199 original miles.

All parts original and proper for 1941, includes: braised rigid frame, springer front fork, hand-shift 4-speed transmission, foot pedal clutch, kick starter, gas tanks with Eaton caps, speedometer, ignition key # B3-30, Linkert M35 carburetor, oil tank, H-D 32E generator, stock wiring, fenders, seat, tool box and chrome rims with cadmium plated spokes.

Exhaust probably factory pre-war chrome package (unknown), it would include pipes, muffler, handlebars, dash cover and (rare) original beehive tail light. Add-ons include chrome spotlights, front side lights, rare front fender “duckbill” bumper and rear fender bumper bullet light bar.

House of Harley-Davidson service, inspection, rebuild carb, tune-up and new 6 volt H-D battery installed.

Starts right up, runs well. Brake foot pedal solid, in good condition, Chain guard original with tab in place. Parkerized skid plate (not painted over). Tires: Goodyear Super Eagle 100 4-ply 5.00-16.

Bike formerly from the collection of Louis Robert Bartley, a restorer, collector (noted in book: “The Harley-Davidson Motor Company An Official Eighty-Year History” by: David Wright, Chap. 6, pg. 130).

Color: Blue paint not original, repainted from around 1960’s. (“Clipper Blue”?)

License plate: Alaska Historic Vehicle #672.

For the past 40 years bike on display in an indoor private collection and showroom.
