Harley-Davidson® Technician Career Opportunities in Alaska
The Alaska Harley-Davidson® Service Apprenticeship Program is designed for motivated, mechanically inclined individuals who want to build a long-term career as a Harley-Davidson® technician. This paid, full-time apprenticeship provides hands-on training and professional development, taking candidates from entry-level to technician status in approximately one year.
The program is based at House of Harley-Davidson® in Anchorage, Alaska, with potential employment opportunities available in Alaska and at our sister dealerships in Arizona upon successful completion.

As an apprentice, you’ll work directly alongside one of our Master Technicians, gaining real-world experience while completing required Harley-Davidson® online training. This structured program is divided into four progressive stages, each with formal evaluations conducted by both technical leadership and management to ensure readiness to advance.
Upon completion of the program, apprentices will have:
Completed all required Harley-Davidson® online technical training
Gained extensive hands-on service experience
Met Harley-Davidson® Authorized Service Standards
Built the foundation needed to step into a technician role
If a technician position is offered, graduates may become eligible for off-site Harley-Davidson® factory training.
Program Expectations
This apprenticeship is a rigorous, full-time position intended for serious candidates who are committed to developing technical skills and growing professionally. Apprentices should be prepared for a fast-paced learning environment that demands focus, reliability, and physical capability.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED required
Previous mechanical exposure or training (shop classes, technical school, or on-the-job experience)
Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and driving record review
Motorcycle endorsement (M1) or ability to obtain one
Physically able to lift 100+ lbs and maneuver motorcycles weighing 900+ lbs
Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of tools and internal combustion engines
Available to work the required full-time schedule
Possess basic hand tools (additional specialty tools available through a tool program at later stages)
Additional requirements will be discussed during the interview process or upon an offer of apprenticeship.
